Where to buy online VERY powerfull computer?

Hello, i need a really fast and powerfull PC to work with Vegas. I was thinking in spending around $3,5k (including 1 Tb of HDDs).

I think the best to have is a Pc with 2 amd opteron processors. That makes a total of 4 processors working together.

Do you know if vegas will benefit from this? Or it will be as fast as a Pentium D or core duo 2?

And most important. Do you know any online store to ask fot such a configurations?

1- Colfax, BOXX are some vendors who offer this.

There are many vendors who will custom-build you computers... i.e. monarchcomputer.com
also try local computer stores

2-Are you looking for a vendor from Spain?

Have you ever considered the new Mac Pro? It can run Windows XP natively as well as OS X. You get a very solid and fast computer for the money.

id wait for a decent core 2 duo with a phatt raid

Do you know if vegas will benefit from this? Or it will be as fast as a Pentium D or core duo 2?

((AMD's are getting very powerful now and bang for the buck, theyre prolly as good as the Pentiums
Vegas will work with anything... and i think from memory Vegas can handle up to 4 CPUs (or 2 dual core/HT totally 4... i THINK.. it might jstu be my config which only lets me have up to 4... ) (plus the additional network rendering option... )

Miguel, might I ask what machine you bought? Specially did you end up going the MacPro route with boot camp? Or did you go PC?

Now that macs can boot windows I been thinking of switching.

I have read that Vegas will not perform in the new Mac for now. So going with PC is a lot safer and much more cheaper.

I went for the Core Duo 2.9 Ghz (still waiting for it, meanwhile i have pluged a P4 D), 2 Gb of RAM (which is enough for Vegas), 1 IDE 320 Gb for XP and programs, and x4 400Gb Seagate HDDs in Raid0.

I also got a very good Winfast graphic card with dual DVI (and also HD RGB out, but i dont plan to use it) plugged to a couple of DELL 24" screens.

I dont think you can get something faster right now, and still price is quite interesting.
