well... I don't know what you mean. If you want to make it
flashy, don't (is the normal rule). Only do that if:

a) it helps the video
b) it indentifies with skateboarders

Quality video is in my mind made by a quality script (if you have
a story), quality shooting, quality lighting if possible, quality
editing and quality post processing.

(Now if this isn't the sentence with the most occurences of
the word quality I don't know what is! Grin.)

With many regards to Rob, these are Gen Xers he is taping, and most likely Gen Xers that will be watching. Just look at MTV and almost anything else aimed at the youngins, and you will see that they were not filmed by, or for, normal people.

I would suggest layering graffitti styled art over the scenes, and a heavy death-metal background.

That would be my point b then. So then it is a good thing to do
indeed. But if you want to score some jobs with this it is probably
not a wise thing to do, at least not the music I think....

i would recommend doing some transitions that introduce the skaters.

I saw a skate video once in which they had chocolate syrup spell out the
skaters name and they played it backwards..thought it was a cheap trick,
but cool.

but i would maybe think of something like that to transition to each skater.
please refrain from doing cheesy built in Adobe transitions and animated text effects...pretty done over. IMO

I would probobly go for something less digitally enhanced, something creative
and clever.
