editing software
i got my dvx not long ago. Im about as newbie as they come but I guess I'm kindof a quick study. What I need to know is what is the easiest Editing software to use with 24p? Im on PC not MAC by the way. Should I go with Vegas or is there something else thats easier than that. (Avid?) I just need the simplest way to edit this stuff. I've been using Windows Movie maker but that is kindof a joke and dont know what i should buy.

so i geuss this question was to stupid to get any replies?

It all depends, a lot of people around here use Vegas for the PC, persionally i use AVID as thats the program that i was taught how to use in school... never used vegas... i believe that there is a demo version to Vegas but i could be wrong... i know that there is a cut down version of the AVID program that is FREE... Just go to www.Avid.com
when it all comes down to it most all of the edit programs out there do the same thing and thats edit... Goat |
James,
I use Vegas 4.0 and find it to be an extremely powerful and easy-to-use NLE (non-linear editor). If you compare Vegas, Premier, AVID, etc, you will find that they each offer strikingly different user interfaces, ways to work. While I can give you my enthusiastic endorsement of Vegas, I do not have any experience with other NLE's. So, I would suggest that you download a demo copy of each NLE that you're interested in, and try them out. See which works best for you. Others may need to correct me if I'm wrong here, but any modern NLE can handle the DVX100's 24P footage. However, only a few (Vegas, AVID, Final Cut Pro 4 [on Mac]) can handle 24P Advanced footage. Hope this helps ... |
I'm going to move this to the PC forum. But for my own curiosity, does Vegas do 24P advanced?
|
Yes it does Jeff--I think it was the first NLE in its class to offer that. Works seamlessly.
