Watch.Impress review of the HD1000
Here is the Watch.Impress review just incase you haven’t seen it yet
Original Japanese: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/do...6/zooma324.htm English Translated: http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...2Fzooma324.htm |
From above-mentioned review...
"With interior photographing also the part where SIGNAL-TO-NOISE RATIO is not somewhat good is seen. When it becomes matter of concern, jointly using NR setting and high sensitivity mode, etc. it probably is necessary to photograph."

he missed the fact that the manual focus can't be adjusted while shooting. It's a big minus to me.
I will receive one this week for my article, so let you folks know how it is. |
So far, it's the clearest 1080 still pics I've seen.
Edit: problem: Why does it seem to encode 60p/120i? I imported the full HD .mp4 into Vegas 7.0e and I got 1920x1080@59.94i. (60 frames and 120 fields) Yet, you would expect non-interlaced images on every frame... but it still looks very interlaced to me. They have the capability for 1080p60 and they don't even use progressive images? Or did watch.impress re-code the file? Edit #2: for 1080i120, this is terrible compression... Edit #3: I think watch.impress improperly re-edited the file... or this .mp4 is non-standard... I'd love to see some source files... Edit #4: Sorry, these samples are just confusing me to pieces... But now I know H.264 @ 1080p60 is possible. It just needs to be properly recorded. |
I will have the cam in few days for my article.

It looks interlaced because it is. Although the single clips are the original H.264 files, the big edited file is converted to HDV probably for better playback on your computer. You should try using the latest Nero for the H.264 files and DivX for the file that was transferred to HDV. The video playback might look better. |
I did get 120i when I imported into Vegas using MainConcept and I got the same in Quicktime before it crashed. And it seemed like the clip played twice...
Anyways, a little better AVC encoding and compatible formatting of the files is needed for H.264 to fly. |
I have gone through review of Sanyo HD1000, I have downloaded some clips and I found them very nice, this camcorder is so portable and able to record good video! I am proud owner of JVC GZHD7.

Can you guys view the 1080i footage of that 'impress.watch' review? 720p examples play fine but 1080i one appears to be corrupted or something.
Anyhow, HD1000 as I know is an 1080i camera, not 1080p. |
Sanyo released the information that clearly says 1080i won't play on Mac at this moment.
|
The PS3 plays 720 60p and 1080 60i files from this camcorder flawlessly. I just had to point that out.
