VHS Tapes
We are going to do an event soon and will need VHS tapes to sell video to competitors.
The individual videos will be very short 1-3 minutes and some may get one or a few of these clips on a tape There are 5,10 and 20 minute VHS tapes available What i am looking for is some suggestions for decent quality but inexepensive tapes i can use for this. I dont want anything that mught give me problems but i dont want to overspend on the tapes either. If anyone has any suggestions on what tape/brand and also where to buy them in bulk throw them at me Thanks |
Just a quick Google will get you started :)

thanks i do know how to look for it on google but i would like to know of any specific brand experiences/problems from people here at dvinfo. |
I think that tape choice is up to you. I use TDK, others Sony, some Maxel. Try to get the highest grade you can though. The really high grade will last longer, and hold a signal better.

I can recommend TDK EHG (http://www.tdk.com/recmedia/vhs/ehg.html). No doubt the other major brands have good tapes as well. As Keith said, try to get the highest grade you can. It does make a difference in the quality of the picture, unlike with Mini DV tape.

I use a lot of Maxell 5 and 10 minute tapes I get from B&H. I never had any problems with them. Some of the more expensive tapes might produce a higher quality video, but I’ve found with VHS so much depends upon the VCR it is played back in that I don’t overly concern myself with the tape, unless I know it will be played back a lot.
