Sensor Pixel Count?
I have really looked at my GY HM100 footage under a microscope for the past few months. I'm curious to know, what is the actual pixel count of the CCD's?
I know it uses "pixel color shifting" technology. But that doesn't say too much. I compare the footage to my EX1R (full rastor sensors) and I can definitely say that the HM100 certainly has some kind of line doubling or interpolation math going on. Thin 45 degree lines show a sometimes heavy dose jaggies that the EX1R never does. Also,..I always notice and odd "grain" around certain small shapes that are different than typical MPEG2 "mosquito noise". I think this weird "grain" is just a function of the sensors and pre codec processing. Pixel specs are nowhere on the internet either. Anybody know? CT p.s. I'm not complaining, I do love this little camera for what it is. I'm just curious about some of the "odd" features of the picture quality. |
I believe the CCD's are 1280x720 while EX1 is 1920x1080.
