New BR-50 Upgrade
 
I just noticed tonight that there is a new firmware upgrade available for the br-50. I think it was 1.08, is this in response to an issue?
How do I know if I need it?

That update has been out for a while now. It adds the ability to connect the HDMI output to a non-HDCP HDMI device. (Blackmagic Intensity, Convergent-Design's HDConnect MI, etc.)
