HELP! MPEG Streamclip exporting "DATA BREAKS"

I have been importing HDV clips from my HD100 using HDVxDV to get the M2T streams, and then encoding them with MPEGStreamclip to whatever file-format I'm editing in. However, wehenever I export, I always get into trouble because the streams consistently have "databreaks". The number of these appear to differ based on which format I'm exporting to, as does the time needed to export.

I'm curious if this is normal, and if not, is it a problem with:
A) HDVxDV import?
B) MPEGStreamclip?
C) my JVC GY-HD100A?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

**ALSO: I have seen in several other posts that people like using another application to import M2Ts. I think it's called DVHSCap, or somehting? Is there a straightforward reason for using this? Where can I download the application? Thanks again!

DVHSCap

You can download apples FireWire SDK; in this package, there should be DVHSCap (for free), and you can capture your Video from your camera or deck to your harddisk:

http://developer.apple.com/sdk/

I made good experiences with it, better than with hdvxdv.....

Go to your Mpegstreamclip PREFERENCES and checkmark "Fix streams with data breaks."

If you have captured an m2t over a start/stop break, it might also be necessary to run the "Fix Timecode Breaks" option.

In this case I usually mark an in and out (with the I or O keys) and then only export the good section without the scene break.
