That's exactly what the JVC rep told me on the NAB2006 show floor last week. As soon as I got to the JVC booth, I immediately asked the first JVC rep I found, "Where's the GY-HD7000?" He said, JVC decided to cancel the project and concentrate on 1/3" cameras due to the successful market acceptance of the HD100. They have no plans for a 1/2" camera, and unfortunately, there will be no production version of the 2/3" prototype of the 7000 shown at NAB last year.
