hd10u and Raynox lens
 

Does anyone out there have any experience with Raynox's hd-6600pro wide angle lens. Is it suitable for the hd10u (i.e. is it fully zoomable, etc.) By the way is .65x the industry standard for wide angle lenses.

The guys at Cavision told me the wide angle lens has to be 52mm as using an ring adapter would cause vigenetting.

I have the Raynox DCR-FE180PRO. It steps up to 62 with supplied adaptor. It is a tight fit but with a filter in between the camera and the lens, it works well. I think it is top notch and notice no problems with the image.

I just received the JVC GLV0752 wide angle adapter from B&H. Turns out to be the Raynox HD6600 pro with JVC sticker added. Seems to work fine at wide angles - just don't zoom in too far. When you get tight, chromatic aberation appears with a haze over entire field. It works fine on top of a UV filter, but corners start to show when a polarizer is added to the UV. It probably would be OK with just the polarizer. The adapter takes 72mm filters. At this point, I think I'll keep it.

Tried the Kenko 0.5 at a local dealer - it was terrible!

The guy from BH told me that the Raynox hd7000pro is the best bet for the price, even with the 58mm to 52mm adapter.
