What were the lights in your arsenal? Very nice job:)
|
Betsy,
What about your film? heath |

One small thing: I noticed, near the end of your HiDef clip, the woman's glass passes down through the lower right shot of the man. In the next shot, the woman still has the glass up to her mouth. Seems like an easy After Effects fix could do the trick, since the glass passes through a black area of the frame. Otherwise, I'm very impressed by what I've seen in your short, great lighting and compositions.

Frederic, for some reason when I download the larger version it still plays in a very small window. I'm on my work computer (the only access I have to high speed internet)--is there a setting I can change on my PC to display it larger? When I right click on the window it doesn't give me any options. Is this my computer's way of telling me this is as big a window as I can handle?
|
Betsy,
What are you playing the m2t with? VLC Player? |
Not sure and afraid to ask the IT guy (as this is definitely non-work related, although I do work at a talent agency). Do you know where I should look to find out?
|
Betsy,
Go ahead and download the VLC player from here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Open the m2t file from the player. |
It seems very "soft" to me. Its a nice look but doesn't seem so HD. More so with the man, the woman looks sharper .
Did you apply any blurs or do multiple renderings? Ken |
Ken,
No filters. Just some color correction and some more saturation on the woman. I like the look as well, much more filmlike than some other HD stuff I've seen. |
Saw the large version, thanks for the help with the download. Looks great. You said you lit it pretty bright and then darkened it. Were you able to eliminate most of the "noise" that comes from low lighting that way?
|
Betsy,
Actually we lit it to enhance contrast and tried to keep the dark areas as dark as possible. I did darken it even more in color correction. Beleive me, there is a lot of noise there. Actually, the seats aren't green, beleive it or not! But they sure seem green on the screen. I didn't have a problem with it, green seemed OK, even though it was a result of chroma noise. The impressive part for me were the reds. Take a look at his tie, you would never get this quality of definition in SD. And, her blouse, same there. Reds do great in HD. In SD we learned to stay away from reds but not in HD. Even HDV. F |
Just as a test I ran your footage through the Cineform Chroma plugin and it removed almost all of the noise. If you would like I will post some stills. Have you tried using that plugin or an equivalent plugin for mac?
|
Mark,
No I haven't. I'm really interested in seeing the results. Stills and m2t if possible. Thanks! |
I have posted 2 sets of stills at http://www.viproductions.tv/hd10/hd10shots.htm
I have converted the entire clip to m2t but 60Mb is a large file to upload to my site at this time. If you would like I could chop it in half and upload that. |
