JVC camera - musings on the 5000,100 and 700 series
For those that like JVC cameras, you might find some of this interesting - my cameras from the 5000 - an SD 4:3 Dv camera, through 110s through to the 750. I've included the older cameras media in the HD frame so you can hopefully see what older cameras can do - and it's a little history of the progress we have made.

Re: JVC camera - musings on the 5000,100 and 700 series
My first HD camera was the 100. I'm currently using a pair of HM-170U that are about the same size and weight as the 100 was. Quality is very good for the price. Used properly, one can obtain excellent results. Like you mentioned, JVC cameras tend to have good color accuracy, though the camera's LCD won't necessarily show it accurately.

Too bad they discontinued the JVC GY-LS300, loved working with that camera as it had some unique features but it needed a updated sensor that was not so "noisy", in good conditions the camera produced one of the nicest looking images but when the lights went down the image fell apart.

At the show at Olympia last week it was sad to see JVC clearly dumping the ⅓" format I like so much. No more development, no more new models. Such a shame - but I guess it was obvious they'd lost interest as they never even had them on show at exhibitions for a few years now. Trouble is, their product line for a replacement is empty.
