I wish you were in the same country also. You could come use it for free when/if it's done. I appreciate your kind generous help.

I wish it could be taller/wider/deeper, have full grid over everything, not use a curtain for one wall, have bigger dressing room, full green room etc...
but hopefully through the compromises it will actually be able to get built and still do what I need it to do.

I'm curious, did the stage get built?

I do feel we're going to need photos. Just saying.

Sadly, he's not been back since August, I'd like to find out too?

Hi everyone. My apologies. Thank you again. Been a tough few years but hopefully things will improve. The new studio build has been post-poned largely due to the wrecking ball operation. In the meantime we are building a smaller scale operation in an our current building which has a 22' white wall and some smaller sets we are trying to figure out as I type this.

Hi David, great to hear from you! Stay in touch ... and send photos too. :-)

There may be others here who can suggest solutions to current problems.

We are soon to build a simple grid 1.5" pipe (approx 1.9" OD) in one of the rooms we are about to build a small set. Trying to find connectors for the cross pipes.

What do you guys think of these?

They all look good, probably depends on how many you need and what your budget is.

I notice you can chat with a lighting expert at B&H, that could be helpul if you try it for your application. Cheers.

Re: Studio ceiling advice?

48mm scaff or 50mm ali tube is much better because it has superior load bearing capability. Even a ladder against 35mm deforms it. You don't want to have to weight fixtures before you rig them, and all the modern, tested devices are for standard sized pipe. With 50mm tube the distance between suspension goes up and it's very easy to hire in equipment because it comes with industry standard clamps - not small tube. right angle and swivel couplers are cheap and easy to source and just better in every way.
Nothing wrong with those clamps apart from price. They are more expensive than we pay in the UK for the big versions.

A money saving tip is to run a few lengths down the long axis and use swivel couplers to add pipe across them wherever you need it - don't waste money on an entire grid.
