MSP8 Released - Anyone planning to use it?
I like that it renders in the background and also uses the GPU and dual processor capabilities.
Not sure I understand the "proxy" thing, but it seems like a reasonable solution to HDV editing. |
Mediastudio Pro 8 keeps crashing on me !
I've downloaded the demo and it looks great ! It creates proxies of the HDV files in mpg or DV (I use DV) so editing and previewing is easy. The interface looks great but the demo keeps crashing when I move the cursor too quickly in the timeline. So I'll go back to Vegas and GearShift: it does the same but doesn't crash...

I have the release now and it's definitely a big shift from older versions.
The "proxy" feature basically automatically creates a small copy of any HD res clips you place onto the timeline. There's settings that allow you to define just what resolution HD is, so you could even be working on an old computer and have MSP generate and work from half res clips even when you're working with DV. |
Yes!! I plan to try it.

I downloaded the Media Studio Pro 8 demo, but I couldn't download the HD plugin without a serial number, so I couldn't try HD editing (which is the only reason I'm even curious about it). Does anyone know how to get the HD plugin to try the demo in HD?

When the program opens, there will be a popup that asks you what format you would like to edit. The top of this popup has a pulldown list called "Edit File Format". Select MPEG files. HDV settings are there. |
