HDV capture issues on Mac
Hi,
I'm having a myriad of capture issues on my Mac Pro (4Gb RAM and capturing to a dedicated internal SATA2 drive). I've tried capturing with FCP, but it breaks up the files and gives no option to turn this off. I've tried with iMovie, which does give an option to turn this off (!) but the audio drops out of sync on some tapes. I've tried with Premiere CS3, capturing as native MPEG, which seemed to be working fine - and editing fine - but now I've discovered audio has dropped out entirely on a capture after about 20 min. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Douglas |
Please provide your camcorder info.
FCP doesn't work well with JVC ProHD camcorders in PAL. Premiere on the other hand, worked fine for me on my iMac in HDV. |
Sorry, it's a Sony HVR-A1, a compact HDV - I reckon it's great, been very impressed by it.

You may want to try a different firewire port. I had a lot of problems capturing HDV from a Sony HVR-25 deck until I tried a different port and all of a sudden everything worked great.

Thanks - I hadn't even thought of that. I'll give it a go.
