I was just contact by a musician's agent looking for an interview with his artist this afternoon, April 26th some time between 5pm and 7pm in the artist's hotel room in Boise. FCP expert needed
 

We have 7-8 hours of 720P 59.94 footage from 15 tapes from Panny HDX900 cameras digitized into FCP. We couldn't get our Avid XPress Pro software to ingest it, so we used FCP. However, our editor is an Avid guy, and worse, the clips will playback but not from the timeline. We need a guru to either export the clips successfully to Avid or to configure our FCP so we can edit on that. Call:

I'm looking for someone with an HDV 24p camera that lives in Berlin, Germany that would like to contribute to a short film by providing a few night time exterior establishing shots. It is a spy flick to be completed as a B&W, and takes place during the Cold War. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm up for that. I have a brand new Canon XH-A1 and tripod. What is the ceremony about? I can do it. I'm in L.A. but have family in Vegas, so not a problem.

Columbia SC Shooter
 

I will be having one day shoots/projects coming up in Columbia SC. Am looking for a shooter with an XL2 (preferred) or DVX who can respond on a semi regular basis. These are in controlled lab/studio environments.

I've got one upcoming in late May-June, and am not exactly sure just yet what the client wants, as we are in the middle of storyboarding now. It won't be more than a half day - full day shoot. Pay will be $400-$500 depending on what the client wants and time commitments. He is making it sound very simple now...

My client is moving his testing labs from Seattle to Columbia, and there may be more of these from time to time. I will ask for a non-compete with the specific customers on these shoots as they occur. It wouldn't hurt if you have any construction experience...

Sound Person in West Caldwell, NJ May 18th and 20th
 

I am working on a low-budget short film shooting for 3 days May 18, 19, 20th. It will be shot in the West Caldwell, NJ. I’m humbly requesting the assistance of a skilled soundperson with gear to come out and give us a hand for 1 or 2 days.

Their will be some compensation, and a written contract stating full payment upon sale of the short. If the short gets made into a 2 hr. movie then you will get first right of refusal as sound person on the feature. I know you have heard this before, but have you had it in writhing?

Food will be provided. I know that production and I like to eat, so it should be rather tasty.

It will be one very busy day and one very short day. The short day May 18 is sound for only one scene 2-3 hours. The long one May 20th will be 12 big ones.

If you can’t do both days maybe you can do one?
Pre-production has been working hard in order not to dilly dally during the shoot days, as so not, to waste time.

The story is actually good, I think it can sell. I am very fussy and this seams to have the stuff that makes for good story telling. Although if it gets made into a movie I think that the Hall Mark Channel or PAX would pick it up.
It’s a story, not lots of special effects. Remember stories? They make you feel more emotions than just adrenalin. Not that adrenalin is bad. ummmmmmmm adrenalin

Hi everyone!

This is kind of a random thing to ask here - but you never know your luck!

I'm after a song that sounds like Muse's "Falling Away With You".

We are currently using that song as a temp track and it fits in perfectly! But, as this particular film is a no-budget short film, getting the rights to it kinda tricky.

So, I'm hoping that someone here knows of a band that sounds like Muse (or that least that particular song!). Or, if someone knows a member of Muse that I can get in contact with - that would be even better!

Or, if you're a composer, and think you can come up with something that has the same "feel" as "Falling Away With You", and don't mind doing something for love - then please get in touch with me!

I've got a couple of people currently searching through MySpace and other online band communities, but no luck so far!

Thanks for you lovely words about my Dad, he was all the things you said and more, so many people owe so much knowledge that came from his 47 years !!!!!!! in the business, he and his assistants wrote the book on location multitrack music recording at a wonderful time to be in the business, it was the golden age of Music, film and Tv, let's not forget that Ealing Film Dept was the biggest Film dept in the world back then, to his final day Dad was pushing for better training using all the old skills mixed with the latest gear, he never lost his passion for film making, we were both enjoying building up the new hire side of the company, he loved working with the new camera's and monitors we bought, but the company will go on in his name, I'm sure I will find your number in Dad's address book but if not I'll inform you of the memorial service we are planning for Dad.

I can totally understand what you are saying, in fact Dad is certainly about in the Studio, in fact our cat came wandering in the other day as I was talking away to Dad, the cat just stared eyes WIDE open right over my shoulder, funnily enough it was the first time she had come into the studio and it was the day that Dad's ashes came home :-)

Seeking Experienced Post Prod Sound Person
 

We are located in Washington about 90 minutes from Seattle and we are almost ready to turn our documentary into a DVD.

Shot on Sony XDCAM HD 350, edited in FCP Studio.

Includes Narration, interior/exterior i/vs (shotgun and lav mics), conference speakers (squeakers in some cases because of off-mic probs) plus added FX and music tracks.

Duration is 90 minutes, give or take a few frames.

It's not at all bad sound-wise as is, but requires someone with a top track record to add that extra genius touch and sweeten things up for DVD release.

The kicker is, we want to release it in the first week of July....so we need the sound tweaked "right now."

If you live around here (Seattle.Portland area) or know anyone who does that would be great.

We'd like to hear from anyone interested in the project - even if it's just to point us in the right direction to get this done.
