It depends on what sort of skills and experience you need, how much other equipment you're expecting the camera gal or guy to supply, where you're located, and more.

But in Madison, seems like you can get very good people for around $650/day including camera. Maybe $500/day without. These aren't exact rates, but they are ballpark. If Bruce Johnson's on this board, he could provide specifics.

You can pay less, too. And you'd probably still end up with good footage...probably.

4312 Productions looking for writers

Hello everyone,

4312 Productions is looking for great short stories from writers, preferably in the Washington, D.C area. We're looking for humorous subjects, with edgy themes, that can be shot in a few locations.

Send us your resume and filmography at film@anthonyfaust.com. Check out our website at www.4312productions.com. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Ouch, that's a lot for my project, but I guess reasonable for a skilled pro.

I can rent one for $125 for 3 days. I might do that unless I can find someone to do it for a 1 day 5 hour shoot for $50-75.

This would be for a short film (4-5 minutes). All Tripod shots.

If anyone is interested shoot me an email.

It would be unreasonable to expect someone to loan you their expensive camera for free and come along to operate it for only $10 per hour.

I'm hoping to find someone looking to get some experience & footage for their demo reel.

I will most likely end up renting the camera since I'm a capable DP as it is.

Ah, a perfect straightline for my favorite aphorism:

Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.

So if you want someone to get some experience, be ready for some bad judgement on their part...

Might be the best option.

Yes...I agree Jim.

Hey Jed...did you use to go to UW-Milwaukee? If you did, are you the guy with the skateboard?

..it felt nostalgic even if not...

Jed Williamson December 23rd, 2005 04:39 PM

Not a UW Milwaukee alum - (went to Furman U in South Carolina).

Never been on a skateboard in my life either, they scare me.

Still in need of a COLORADO video editor?

Hi Mark,

I'm in Colorado and work in Final Cut Pro. I have a few shorts that I've shot and cut, so let me know if you're still looking for a video editor for weddings and I can send you a copy of my work.
