Hey Brian. I visited (friends in) Key West 27 years ago for about 7 days. I loved it there. I'll bet it's changed a bunch since then. I parked my car for the entire week and rode a bicycle everywhere! Do the conch trains still travel around? I assume Sloppy Joe's is still standing!
I had some great memories from that little visit. Good luck with your work down there. |
The Conch Train remains
Lots of scooter traffic down here
and Sloppy Joes is still rockin and rollin Its great down here let me know if you come back down well have some beer. |
Thank's Mark
Thank's for keeping me in mind
for any wedding leads I have a whole Crew ready to go down here for events and weddings all of which are Commercial shooters supplementing our income ( otherwise known as Diving and Beer money) ha ha Thanks again Mark |

--Media Leads in San Diego, Orange County
After nearly a decade in Japan, I've relocated my family to Southern California--new territory for me.
I haven’t been posting recently with the move back/holiday chaos--but goes without saying--I am looking for work; specifically, a position where I can make a positive impact (and a living) in the media industry. I am hoping to offer my broad background in media design and marketing to a group or company in the San Diego or Orange county areas and hope to contribute my practical knowledge in the areas of: Japanese (8 years of fluency) Marketing (Japan, Asia) Project management (marcom, localization) Print/motion media design - Directed/produced, corporate & indy docs in Japan & San Diego - Assc. Prod, DV short- Japan - Pa’d 35 mm feature film– Japan Technical training - ESL/EFL education (preschool-adult) - CG software, video production If any of you might offer some leads on organizations you are familiar with (ie. production houses, media groups, Japanese/bilingual, children’s media, educational, etc.) I would truly be grateful. Thanks and Happy 2004! (Way to go USC!) |
Hello Imran,
Another place you can post is at www.greenroomorlando.com (maybe you are familiar with this site) , go to the message board, and there are places to post for crew, talent etc for various Fl areas.. And its free.. Mike M |
Yepper, thanks, I did post to them to GreenRoomOrlando.com just before this one. I'm sending out the call all over the place - and of course, this was one of my stops. It's amazing how fast the response is for some of the actors - I started getting stuff maybe an hour or so after the first posting I did.

Anyone from the Hawai'ian Islands?
Hello
I am starting pre-production on a feature intended for completion by 2005. The script, possibly unfortunately, is sprawling and requires some shots from the Hawai'ian Islands. These cannot be faked - I can't go out to Cape Cod and wing it. So, do you live on the Islands and do you want to collaborate? Thanks. Chet |
One of our producers (Dustin Cross) from the Lady X series is on
Hawaii, perhaps he might be interested? Follow this link and click on "Send feedback to the filmmaker" to send him a message. |
I am a photographer on the island of Oahu. If you'd like, send me an email and we could hammer out some details. I am always up for collaboration, always up to shoot. When you email, I will give you my background and qualifications.

British male voice-over available
If anyone ever requires a native British accent for any projects please check out my web site www.ianstark.com where you'll find a resume, voice demos etc etc.
I can offer a range of British accents and voices, including RP (what used to be known as 'standard BBC English'). I have my own studio which includes a Mackie desk, Focusrite compressor, Lexicon processor, Rode NT1000 mic, quiet vocal booth etc and I can deliver in a variety of formats, including mp3, wav, CD (more details on the web site). Anything and everything considered! Ian . . . |
Nice to know, cheers Ian...
Ed |
That's interesting. Can you let us know in what price ranges we
should be thinking? (ofcourse that depends on size etc., but still an indication would be nice) |
Hey Rob. My partner and I are able to handle every aspect of production. We are responsible for 100% of the work that goes into our shorts. When It comes to props and f/x, I'am able to take advantage of my other profession. I'am currently employed at a handful of model/prop construction shops in the L.A. area. Because of my situation, I have access to scrap material and tools. For most projects there would be virtually no cost going to materials, it would all go to labor and/or shipping. I'am very flexible when it comes to costs because I myself am a broke independent filmmaker.
If you have something you need, please don't hesitate to contact me! ____________________ Seth Peterson www.sundevilpictures.com |

To all the NJ/NY DV Filmmakers
Hello and Happy New Year.
I am seeking creative, hardworking filmmakers (w/own or access) to equipment who are interested in collaborating on some really cool projects this year. (Horror/action) I have some very good connections within the industry. However you know the story in order for the big boys to step in first you need to demonstrate what you can do to knock their socks off so to speak. I need people who understand NO/LOW,LOW LOW,LOW BUDGET filmmaking. They always say it's a hard climb to the top with a lot of slips and falls and bumps along the way but with everyone working together to achieve the same goal SUCCESS NOTHING is impossible. And with the sudden success of the horror/action genre market is even more a plus. One project is going to redefine the horror genre it is a touchy subject but I've added a TWIST. So if you are looking to build your reel, get involved with some hot projects, or looking to network and form the hottest production team then please let me know. Feel free to e-mail (Questar150@yahoo.com, questarp@yahoo.com) or call and leave a message at 212-696-7942. I have a script for a present project however it is being lengthened but can e-mail the current copy I have presently. |

DV Editor in Orlando?
I'm shooting a short film next month which has been in preproduction for a while. The script has been received very well, and I'm casting next week (the lead role is already cast by a very talented young actor). The great locations are being secured as we speak and it's looking like it will be a very good production between myself and those who I am working with. It will be a 24p venture shot on the new DVX100A I recently decided to upgrade to from my GL2.
Anyway, I'm wondering if there is an editor in town, someone good, who would be interested in helping me edit this picture. I usually edit my own projects, but I am working so hard in making this a quality production, I'm finding great comfort in the idea that I might find a talented editor who would be able help me to take some of the load off. This is the only place I would even dare to find someone to help me edit, since there are good, genuine people on this forum as opposed to many other forums. While I cannot offer much in the way of cash, I can pull from a very large pool of resources and trade any of a number of services with you. For example, by day I create very high priced web sites, and work with some very, very talented graphic designers. Perhaps you need a logo, a content managed web site, whatever? Or I have lots of very talented musician friends who would be able to help you score one of your productions in exchange for helping me. Other than that if you tell me a need you have I can find out if I can get it done for you in trade for your editing services. Please shoot me an email if you'd like to at least talk about it - imran(at)theseventhlevel.net. Also, I really would prefer it if you're in Orlando so we can pow-wow freely when the need arises. |
Im not sure where Devon is but I dont think i'm very close. Do you have any DVD burning software? iDVD or DVD studio pro? iDVD is inexspensive($50) and may have have been preinstalled on your G5 pretty simple if you can operate FCP you should have no problems. Also do a search on the boards in the Mac forum as well.

European filmmakers for common independent filmproject wanted
Hello everybody
I´m looking for indepent filmmakers from different european countries for a common filmproject this year. The idea: The idea is to make a common movie (90 minutes) with a common basic story line. but each filmmaker shoots a part of the story. It will like a episodic movie where the episodes and the main characters of each episode are connected through a greater storyline. Each episode/part of the common movie should not be longer than 20 minutes. That means I´m looking for four to five european filmmakers who are interested in this filmproject. The goal: The goal is to make a very good european movie which shows the audience what is possible today with digital production methods and the connection via internet. A second goal is to stay in contact with other european filmmakers and the work on common future filmprojects. This is a non commercial no budget project. The medium for the shooting wil be DV/Mini DV. We will stay in contact via e-mail. Later real meetings are welcome, of course. Start of the project: The project will start in spring 2004. Each part of the common movie should be finished in autumm 2004. Contact: If you are an european independent no/low budget filmmaker with some first experiences in filmmaking and in the age between 20+ and 30+: then send your application via e-mail to: two-for-twenty@web.de Your application mail should reach us before feberuary, the 10. 10.02.2004 is the last day for applying via e-mail. to my person : I´m a independent filmmaker who lives in Hamburg,Germany. Some of you know me from the Lady X serial www.LadyXFilms.com I produced and directed the episodes 2 and 11 and worked as DoP in the episodes 2,9 and 11 . If you are interested in more infos about this european filmproject then write me an e-mail: two-for-twenty@web.de Thanks to your interest Steffen Werske |
Want to be a Steadicam Operator?
Hello Los Angeles!
We're looking for a Steadicam Operator or wanna-be steadicam operator looking for experience (we will teach you!) to be part of a great crew and excellent script. Your work will be showcased in "The Banshee Chapter", a short digital suspense distributed to the 2004-2005 film festival circuit. More details on the film at www.bansheechapter.com. There's no pay, but copy, credit, and meals are provided. We're filming the first three weeekends in Los Angeles during February. Join us behind the (PD-150) camera! thanks! Stephanie bansheechapter@yahoo.com www.bansheechapter.com |
Here is a link to download my portfolio. These pics are from shows I worked on as a freelance model maker. They are WinRar format.

Thanks so much for posting that. I have only one word for this: AMAZING.
Really too bad your on the other side of the world. Otherwise I could've used someone like you to decorate a war set for me. I'm writing a piece I hope to shoot later this year which would perhaps have some need for miniature stuff. The only problem is fluid camera movement on such a scale (no motion control for me) and getting such a model here to Holland. Maybe I can save to come shoot a model in LA with you, who knows. I'll keep your portfolio and stuff in my mind for the project! |
Stephanie,
You might be able to net yourself a surprisingly experienced operator and/or make some good connections if you post this on the Steadicam Forum (www.steadicamforum.com). You'll need to create an account but it's free, just like this board. Good luck with the project! |
Hey Rob. Glad you liked the pix. Let me know if you decide to use any models in your next project. We can build them and shoot them here; and FTP the video tests to you. While you are PAL and we are NTSC, I dont see that being a huge problem.
Thanks Seth Peterson www.sundevilpictures.com |
Currently In Los Angeles
I am currently back in Los Angeles from Europe. While I'm here, I'd like to participate in (paying) projects and bring some projects back with me to Europe.
I write, produce, direct, shoot, edit, compress for internet streaming and even know some HTML. Here's my online demo reel: http://advaloreminternational.com/videos/demo/demo.mov I look forward to hearing from you! |
That might be an option indeed. I'll keep that in mind. Only with
camera moves it might be a little bit of a problem with the frame rate. Stills shouldn't be too much of an issue and we might even use a digital still camera for higher resolution ? I also moved the thread to helping hands forum if you don't mind. It is a bit more in its place there. |
Glad to see you had a safe journey Victor! I've renamed your
thread and moved it to the Helping Hands forum to target it a bit better to what you are looking for. Nice reaal Victor! Note to other people: the link above is to a small file that will download the rest from within your player. |
Victor, I really enjoyed your demo reel! Great action stuff, the guy jumping off the cliff is awesome footage. The flying snow skier is too!
|
Thanks :-)
Charles~
Thank you for sharing that resource! I really appreciate it and will definitely check it out... best, Stephanie |
