Changing M2T Files to a usable format

I recently purchased a Citidisk HDV tapeless video recorder. I have it hooked up to my Canon XH-A1. I have not had a chance to use this recorder until earlier today.

When I got home, I hooked up the recorder to my Mac and copied the files over to my storage folder. All of my HDV footage is stored as .M2T files. To my chagrin, I realized that such files will not work in Final Cut.

How can I change these files to something usable?

Thanks in advance.

Jake

Thanks Tim. I'll check that out.

After I change those files over to .MOV, how can I bring them into Final Cut? Will Log and Capture work?

Import files.

Mpeg Streamclip works as well

I second the MPEG StreamClip option; where I work, we encode local commercials to .m2t, and if an old spot needs new graphics (and we don't have the original commercial), we convert to .mov or .wmv via MPEG StreamClip.
