Does FCP...
Back when I started with my first NLE, I was using Adobe Premiere. There was this really cool little feature on the "speed" option that you could click to keep the same pitch of vocals if you slowed it down or sped it up so that the person wouldn't sound like a chipmunk, or someone on laughing gas. I've been using FCP now for about 3 years and can't for the life of me find anything that does the same thing. Am I just missing it? In Prem, you just clicked "keep pitch" or "maintain pitch" or something. It was that easy.

Not quite as easy in FCP, but doable. After you change the speed, go to the Effects menu > Audio Filters > Apple > AUPitch. You can change the pitch of the audio back to what it was originally. Not the same, but close.

Great! Thanks!

If you have FCP Studio, then you have Soundtrack Pro, which does the speed change trick without affecting the pitch. I'm not at my editing computer now so can't give any more details, but its there for sure.
