most stable OS FCPX versions?
i have been on a huge project for a long time and am almost done. suffered through FCPX slowing down all the time, crashing on export, etc. etc.
now looking towards update. i am on 10.9.4 and 10.1.3. Any opinions on the most stable combo to date? i am mentally and spiritually preparing for the inevitable conflicts with pro tools and all my plugins and the weeklong aggravation of playing google detective.... |
Re: most stable OS FCPX versions?
You are way back there. I am not sure if it was the version of FCPX that caused some plug-ins to crash or if it was the OS X update (I seem to recall it was the OS update) but I would recommend that you do a Time Machine backup first and then update FCPX first. See if that gives you the stability that you need. I have updated with all the new versions and have had no crashes or slowdowns except that one of the video boards in my MacPro would have a memory crash if I used the waveforms for too long. That board is getting replaced by Apple soon.

Re: most stable OS FCPX versions?
It seems El Capitan may not be an option for pro tools 11. Any experience on the most stable Yoesemite with FCPX, Pro Tools 11, and Photoshop cs5?
thanks! |
Re: most stable OS FCPX versions?
Photoshop CS5? I started having problems with it a while back with one of the OS updates, sorry I have no memory of which one. Photoshop CS6 is completely stable with 10.11 if that's any help.
Regarding Pro Tools 11, have you seen specific information about it's non-compatibility with 10.11? I know that AVID isn't recommending it with 10.11 but that's how they sell upgrades. |
