seeing this listing brings back some memories of my good 'ol L1 days. This is only a test!

I almost want to buy it for sentimental reasons, mine met an untimely demise a few years back. I used to love that camera. Circa 1992.

Most Hi-8 camcorders from that era wind up meeting an untimely (or maybe timely) demise... their capacitors start leaking at a certain point. You can tell when it happens, because you can open up the tape transport door and smell a really bad odor that's kind of like rotten eggs. And the camera quits working at that point. Happens to all of 'em, sooner or later. But... the nostalgia factor is definitely strong in this one, that's for sure.

This camera is in excellent condition. I bought it about 6 years ago and used it in my photography and web design business. About 5 years ago my business evolved into video full time and I've only used this camera a handful of times since then so it in great condition.

If you're looking you know this is an amazing camera. I guarantee this item is in working order. Can't guarantee that the pictures YOU take will look good. That's up to you!

I bought this mic a couple of years ago when I thought I was going to get into filmmaking, this never happened, so the mic was probably only used a couple of times, mainly just while testing out my camera. The mic is in mint condition and I still have the case and mic stand holder, however I don't have the little foam windscreen that came with it as I never used it as I was using a zeppelin style windscreen, but will include a Tensimount shock mount if you can use it.

In case anyone is interested there is an ebay auction where the starting price for a brand new Letus Elite is starting at $1.

I bought it a few months ago along with a panasonic 170 and a Zacuto base plate but never used any of it. Not long after I got all this gear, I came across the Canon 5D and haven't looked back since, so there's no point me keeping this gear 'just in case'. I just don't need it now.

So... if you're quick you might get a bargain. Hopefully for me it will go up a bit before the auction ends. :)
