High Quality DVR recorder

Hi Folks,

We need to hook up our Canon XL2 to a GPS overlay unit (which we have) and then send the composite video to a DVR (which we do not have) for recording. Can anybody recommend a quality DVR for this? We'll be documenting roadway conditions on this project so a mobile unit would be a plus.
