Scheduled forum downtime Fri. 19 July 2019

Howdy from Texas,

The forum will be down for just a few minutes today (8:30pm GMT / 3:30pm EDT / 2:30pm CDT / 12:30pm PDT) today, Friday 19 July 2019) while we run the vacuum cleaner in that pesky tough-to-reach spot, one know, the one behind the server where all the dust bunnies congregate.

"It shouldn't take long," he said, hoping they weren't famous last words. It's a Friday thing.

Back at ya soon though. 15 or 20 minutes past the half-hour, maybe.

"Dr. Chandra taught me to sing a song. Would you like to hear it?

It's called Daisy."

Aaand we're back. Well, that didn't take long. Or hurt much.

It must be a very special song.

As a cat owner, I certainly like your meme! But I was hoping the reference would have been universally understood.

It's a special song because it's the first one the system ever learned... I guess it came back just for the shut-down.

I might get banned for this but your post brought to mind the old one about a couple on a tandem cycling through a country village when a dog ran out and threw a bucket of water over them.

Hmm... nobody enjoys Kubrick anymore, I guess.

Given the unexpected extra time the 'maintenance' took, there must have been some sort of struggle.

Open the pod bay doors please, Hal.

Hal? Hal! Open the pod bay doors, Hal!

Fine, I'll come in through the airlock.

Damn, where's my space helmet?

---------------------------------------------

You perceived there was extra time, Andrew? I thought it took less than 30 minutes.

Chris: "The forum will be down for just a few minutes today ..."
HAL / Webserver: "Hold my beer ..."

Wel it's playing right now on Turner Classic Movies, Pete... but I imagine you probably own it on Blu-Ray and can watch it whenever you want.

I never get tired of it myself.
