Confirmation Request for new member
 

My acquaintance, who is named Tom, as been waiting all day for a confirmation email so he may join in the fun here.

He wrote me this afternoon:

Jeff,
I tried to join that website early this morning, when I heard from you. I
submitted my info, and then I got a confirmation that it was rec'd. But it
said that I would receive another e-mail finally confirming me. I have not yet
heard from the website. Is this the way it is supposed to work? -> Tom

What should I tell him, any suggestions?

Tell him not to sweat it.

The boys and girls, er, Chris Hurd and friends, plough through applications personally as and when time is available, in between keeping this place ticking over, developing new bits and pieces, going to trade shows, having a few beers and running farms.

There ain't no automated system for joiners, so it takes a little time.

It'll happen, as and when.

Tell him to relax, he hasn't been forgotten.

I've had a private message via Vimeo from a guy in Nottingham, UK who tells me he tried to register a week ago on DVinfo but has yet to receive a confirmation - so can't post a question. I guess you're pretty busy but add this one to the list...
