Direct to DVD printer
Hi all,
I am looking into buying the least expensive printer I could use to print on the matte white blank DVDs. Black and white is fine. Recommendations please, |
Both Epson and Canon have printers that can handle discs. Don't know the new model numbers or prices though.
|
I bought an Epson R320 a few years ago and it works fine, and as I recall was pretty inexpensive. It comes with a Disc tray and some rudimentary design SW for your DVD -- it's probably long since been replaced by newer models.
You have to feed it one disc at a time, though. There are some very nice automated ones at Disc Makers and elsewhere around the Interweb that can do whole stacks for you overnight, but they're expensive. EDIT: Similar thread here: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/wedding-...customers.html |
Most of Canon Pixma models can handle that. I have a Canon's Pixma MP620.
I bought it some 2 years ago and it still is expensive. Try newer Pixma models. |
Are you interested in used? I have an Epson R200 I haven't used since I bought my automated duplicator two years ago. I even have a bunch of ink cartridges. If you're interested I'll set it up and make sure it still works.

Yes, I am interested in a good used printer.
Does it also print on shiny/silver surface discs or just on matte white? Will it work on a Windows 7 64 bit PC (is there a drive for it)? Thank you, |
It will print on whatever is labeled "inkjet printable".
The last time I used it was on a computer with XP. I couldn't tell you if drivers are available for Windows 7. I'll get it out of storage and hook it up to make sure it works and get back to you. |
Sounds good.
Thanks, |
