How can I get an image filename onto the actual image as a title?

I have 200 pictures im using as a slideshow, they are named perfectly but I want to put the name of the file onto the picture itself.

Of course I can load each one up, and do it individually, but is there a way of doing them as a batch?

I did this a while back with Paint Shop Pro (using its built-in scripting).
