I still don't think indie filmmakers will go for it... It doesn't have a shallow depth of field! :P

Ahh ... but that's exactly where the "reality distortion field" comes in handy. They'll never even notice! :-)

When pros begin shooting with phones...

I am quite sure this is not a First, but thinking back to the beating of Rodney King, the shooting of Neda in Iran and other 'events' for which there may not have been a professional cameraman .. this new iPhone may let us all become widows for the world.

Yes, the average consumer is now equip with devices that shoot very high quality HD video. They also have at their fingertips, access to online and offline free, or inexpensive HD video editing software.

Have a wedding coming? Event? Video biography of a loved one? Need video for a news program? Short documentary?

Who's needs that professional anymore?

A feature film has already been made using a cell phone. However, the story fitted this.

Yay, Verizon will become an iPhone provider! Anything to break the Draconian deal with the Devil that Apple signed with AT&T.

Lucky Brits, the new iPhone is available for a mere £99 when you sign up for a £30 per month service plan. Brits can also purchase the phone unlocked and have options for 12, 18 and 24 month plans as well as pay as you go because there are six service providers in the UK market.

That £99 ($150) deal for a 16GB iPhone does commit you to a 24 month contract at £30 ($45) per month for a total of £819 ($1230) for the two years. There are cheaper ways of buying an iPhone e.g. unlocked direct from Apple for £499 but that monthly plan is a decent deal & not out of line with regular prices for any phone for 900 minutes, 5000 texts & 1GB of data. Another deal gives a free phone if you sign up for £45 for 24 months but that does give you 2000 minutes of calls in addition to the 5000 texts & 1GB of data. There is also an offer for unlimited voice calls plus unlimited texts for £45 per month & the handset then costs just £99.
