rendering overnight with multiple databases - issue
 

1. Open First Light.
2. create new database - project A
3. color correct project A
4. close first light
5. reopen first light
6. create new database - project B
7. color correct project B
8. close first light
9. open after effects
10. place clips on after effects timeline
11. render clips with looks baked in.
12. Project A clips have no look on them.
13. project B clips have the look I just created.
14. open first light.
15. change database to project A
16. open after effects
17. project A has the looks applied.
18. project B has no look.

I have multiple projects going during the week, up to 20. I need to manage the databases so I can delete database files as projects are completed. However I cannot find a way to have multiple databases setup so I can render multiple projects overnight.

is there a workaround for this?

Most users will use only one database for all their work, so these issues do not come up. Databased are not projects, and should not be used that way. Use a deferent database for a new look of an existing project.

understood.

but what about when you're using a dropbox and your file limit is 2gb.
I'm currently 3/4 full and have more projects coming.
I also don't want to risk having a client accidentally delete / modify a file that is not involved in their project.

I do not know of a simple way to delete files from completed projects from the dropbox DB. I can't tell what files are what in an efficient manner.

My database(s) have entries for 7500 files, and is only 3MB of data. The databases are tiny, no size worries.

Clone a database for backup, easy.
