It takes engineering time to add support for different cards. We would like to add Black Magic support and we have done some work on this, yet other projects prevent us from completing BM support. 8-bit capture from a Black Magic card into Aspect HD's Encoder2 is actually quite straight forward, you can do that within GraphEdit. So a programmer with some DirectShow experience could add that feature before we do, are you up for that task. :)
