Rule of Thirds
Hi all,
I have found that adhering to the rule of thirds by actual marking them out on a camera with and LCD screen to be extremely successful in improving my composition of a picture; however, of course this is not possible with an XL1s; is there anyway to create a software guide like the 16:9 crop outline that will do this? Cheers. Anatole |
Software guide in the camcorder? I suppose one could if they had the necessary programming skills and access to the XL1s firmware.
Simpler may be to use an external monitor? Or consider carefully placing some black threads over the LCD panel in the viewfinder? |
clear scotch tape and a marker in the eyepiece :)

or...
I bought a 20 pack of overhead transparency sheets at either office depot or staples or something. I also bought wet erase markers and painters tape (so as not to leave any sticky goo on my camera). You can cut the transparency down to whatever size you need and it's fairly durable and easy to work with.
