Please help, my camera wont play
 

I use a canon XL1 to record my footage and usually use an old JVC GR-D200 to capture it. Ages ago it decided that it wouldnt play tapes, you'd press play and hear it play but all I would get is a blue screen.

It decided to fix itself and worked great for ages. Now after sometime of not using it I put a tape in and now all I get is a blue screen of nothing. Now I know there is footage as I can see it on the other camera.


Can anyone help me, please.

Your options in order of least expensive to most costly:

1. Run a head-cleaning cassette for about ten seconds.

2. Find an authorized service / repair facility.

3. Replace the camera.

hmm, this questions doesnt really have a whole lot to do with the XL1 its more a general camera questions. I just have an XL1

but thanks for the suggestions. Wish I had a head cleaner now.
