XL-H1a Just Died
All ready to shoot a wedding, fired up the XL-H1a and what a disaster.
The blue and also the green light come on but no image in the viewfinder. The tape door flips open but the transport doesn't pop up to accept a tape. When you switch the dial to 'Off', the blue and green lights are still lit. Tried various batteries and mains but all produce same result. Tried all the modes but no image and no tape ejection. Tried disconnecting EVF and mic, removed lens and reattached. Same result. Any ideas anyone ? |

You could try the reset button.

Re: XL-H1a Just Died
Amazing, its working after a reset.
Good job we had a backup camera to use but now the main one is up and running. |
Re: XL-H1a Just Died
Hey - just in case I too need it, where is the reset button? I'm on a plain old early XLH1.
Thanks, Harry. |
Re: XL-H1a Just Died
Harry -- it's on the broad side of the hand grip adjacent to the lens. You'll have to remove the lens to access it.

Great! Never saw this button.

Re: XL-H1a Just Died
I had no idea this existed, but was very relieved it actually got the camera working again. Still a nagging doubt in my mind though as to what put the camera in the 'suspended' state in the first place, but just glad its up and running again.
