Into the Sun
At times I'll film a Silhouetted boat or bird or something directly into the sun. Is this really bad for my camera, or can you pull it off for 10 or 15 seconds? Not to mention the glare from the water... but it does make a beautiful shot...
any thoughts or precautions? UV filter in place at all times.... |
CCDs love the sun
Hi Matthew,
No problemo pointing your CCD at the sun. We all do it on purpose these days - practice with it to get a nice flare effect, silhouette, etc. http://forums.vr-zone.com/archive/in...p/t-75354.html Back in the "olden days" pointing our beloved orticon tube cameras at the sun was a real no-no, quickly burning up the sensitive tube. Fortunately, those days are behind us. But don't try looking at the sun with a telescope - you only get one look with each eye <wink> Regards, Michael |
Thanks Michael... Yea, there's nothing cooler than capturing a natural lens flare.... that's not done in After Effects... so it's good to hear that it's okay...
thanks so much!! Matt |
