Cool Video
Artistic, very nice. I've got an A1, and I feel that I've just scratched the serface of it's potential. I just finished a Shoot this past weekend, actually my first. I used the preset 5296Film, but it didn't take when I attemped to import it, the file was low light so I had to manual set the prameters, and man it was sweet!! after that.
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=15243420 I've found that with this camera, if your very carefull, the viewer might not even know it's not file, it's just a matter of learning where to stop pushing. Your video is great, Tim Arnold |

Hello Nathan,
I have just looked at your wedding video! Beautiful video!!! You could say to me where I little to find the file sounds of the flash (audio) photo which you use as transition in the small slide show towards the fine of your film. Either you can send him(it) to me by e-mail in the size(format) MP3 at my address; ( bernard.m@neuf.fr ) Thank you to you for your help (assistant)!!! Excuse me for the translation, but I am French and my English is very bad!!! Bernard.M |
Yosemite Sunset Timelapse
52 minutes of footage of Half-Dome in Yosemite during sunset sped up 8000% (literally). No sound, just a quick lighting test. Let me know what you think.
Also, I apologize for the crappy youtube video, but i don't have a server... and I can't figure out how to encode the file correctly. http://www.youtube.com/v/httt_ai5aHo Specs: Canon XH-A1. Filmed in 24f. |
ominous looking... and boy, your shoulder must be sore after that shoot!

Looks good, but maybe mask out the sky and add some time lapse clouds that fade into time lapsed night sky (stars).

Mixing A-1 footage with 2/3rd-inch cams
I shot my kids' dance show, not something I normally do, but the studio called me the week before and had had a falling out with the video place that usually does it, they were in a pinch so I got a couple friends who have 2/3rd DVCams and I used my A-1, shot in HDV. I downconverted and used multiclip in FCP to cut it after. Verdict: while the Canon wasn't as good in terms of low-light (and this was a LOT of low-light), it held up quite well. This is a promo I did that they'll use at the studio to sell more copies, hopefully...

Facing the stage was the A1 left...?
Not bad could probably correct the footage to match a little closer... IMO the A1 shoots pretty flat images which if not corrected in post or via a preset it doesn't seem to be up to the image quality of other cameras... But once corrected it surpasses many of it's competitors in quality... |
Yeah, it's the left angle camera is the A-1, and I could spend more time correcting...if there weren't so much show here! Correction is a function of how much time I can put into this, versus doing my real work...
I think the main problem in comparison is the light sensitivity, whereas the 2 bigger cameras read a color on the back screen for example, the A-1 didn't always read as much of it and you get a fairly different look and value. But in a we-don't-know-what's-coming-next situation where you have no idea what the light (let alone action) is going to be, I think it did admirably. |
i think it looks great. for a better fit with the other cams, i would only suggest a few more notches of overall saturation on the a1 stuff.

Canon A1 Motocross Footage 60I
Here is a short clip from a motocross race in Michigan. Shot in 60I and exported h.264 its about 13mb. Should give people an idea of motion with this camera. Looks good to me :) The 20 optical is great! Ohh and the website was put up in 3 min. Its a work in progress.
