Majestic old preset
Ok...You guy's set me up really well with the blues and red custom preset.
Now..I am going to take some video of a farm with an old run down farm house (White) and wating something to give me a good majestic look and feel. Also, will be getting some footage of the deer on the property. any idea's of a good preset that might look good here. I may go black and white..Not really sure. |
Re: Majestic old preset
Everyone has different opinions on this sort of thing. For me, personally, I would shoot it with a nice even setting. Not too weak or too strong in any one area. Then take it to post and get the look I want.
The problem with recording a really saturated or colored image (or black and white) is that you're basically stuck with that look. I quit using presets that have a huge effect on the look of the image for that reason. I prefer to have a good exposure, solid (but not overly punchy) colors, and the ability to see into the whites and blacks. That gives me the most to work with in post, where I have much more powerful color/contrast tools to work with. So maybe try to find (or create) a preset that'll get you a good image in nearly any situation, then take it to post and create your looks there. Just my 2 cents. I'm sure others approach this much differently! |
