Auto shut-off problem
Hola amigos, I'm back with yet another question.
On the XL1S' if I wanted to record to a laptop I would just not put a tape in and the auto shut-off feature wouldn't work. How do you go about recording via firewire (and no tape)? Looking at the manual it looks like you can disable the auto shut-off somehow in custom settings but I'd like for it to work if I have a tape in it and forget to turn it off as I've read it's bad for the heads (or something). Just wondering what you guys do. Thanks, Randy |
Hola GR. Either you have to learn to remember to turn the cam off or disable the auto shut off each time you run via firewire.
Cheers. |
I disabled the auto shut-off - it was one of the first things I did. I just followed the instructions in the manual. Now I occasionally forget to switch it off properly at the end of a shoot, and run out of battery.

Thanks very much folks
