XHA1s Deinterlace 60i FCP/Compressor Workflow
Was hunting around looking for deinterlace workflow solutions others have been using for their 60i footage.
Currently I import my XHA1s 60i footage into FCP as Apple Pro Res 422-60i. After editing is complete I export the final project as a "quicktime movie" with "current settings". Then send that to Compressor with the following deinterlace settings: Frame Controls: On Resize Filter: Best Output Fields: Progressive Deinterlace: Best (Motion Compensated) Rate Conversion: Best (High Qual Motion Compensated) I found this takes about 40-60 minutes to process each 1 minute of HD video on a QuadCore Mac Pro. End result is pretty good though. What do others recommend or use when deinterlacing 60i? Would love to know! Thanks.. |

Hi Sylus,
Is this for SD DVD's? If so try a test with a short snippet of your finished product with the Frame Controls off and instead turn on Deinterlace in the legacy filters tab. Set it to Blur. Its a much faster render. This works great when going from SD interlaced footage to an SD DVD, but I haven't needed to do it with HD footage as I shoot progressive with the A1. http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/attachme...1&d=1260553048 |
Mainly I would be taking HD 60i footage and deinterlace for the web, but would be good to know a similar work flow for SD DVD as well. I didn't know about that filter in Compressor. Ill have to give that a shot and see how it comes out. Thanks a lot Joel!
