Export to Tape w/ XH-A1 and CS4 - Please Help - Time Sensitive!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am having a big problem exporting to a tape using Adobe CS4 and my Canon XH-A1. The project is HDV at 24fps. The problem is that the "Export to Tape" function is grayed out and simply will not work. I know there has to be something simple I am overlooking, but the pressure is on, as this film has been accepted to a festival which requires mini-dv tapes. Please help as soon as possible. Any suggestions will be appreciated. |
Try this, in VCR mode: Menu > Signal Setup > Time Code > HD/DV In > Copy
Also in VCR mode, try: Menu > Signal Setup > HD Down-Conv > Off You should power the camera down and disconnect it from the computer before making this change... then re-connect. [ edit: added HD Down-Conv > Off ] |
Thanks Chris, that seems to have done it. Sorry for re-posting in several areas - panic sets in and you start acting crazy...
I'm doing this on a friend's computer and don't use CS4 much - I chose "Render and Record" and it seems to be taking a very long time to get started - is this normal? And what can I expect for a 90 min feature? Thanks again |
Alright, problem #2 - I just thought it was taking a long time to get started - but it's actually crashed CS4 the last two times I've tried to "Render and Record" - Any suggestions?

That's an issue which is best addressed in our Adobe CS / Premiere forum.

I did this and its still grayed out.
Any other suggestions? Ps, I think this should stay in XH-A1 Category, because I only have this prob with my XH. My old cameras never had this issue. |
