Speaker Blown, Or microphone settings...

So my XH-A1 has been acting odd when I play back video. The audio gets very crackled just like a blown speaker... Is it possible? I only found one case online about a blown speaker on here.

It may also be something to do with using my shotgun mic on shoots... I have not been able to tell cause my last few shoots have needed the shotgun, so I have no way of telling if it's the mic.

Any ideas?

If it is blown, is it covered by Canon?

Thanks!

Try it with a pair of headphones.

Headphones work great which is what makes me think its blown... But I would figure Canon thought to ensure that the camera volume would not get that loud.

Hi Scott.............

If it's good on the phones and good in the NLE but bad on the camera speaker then it pretty well sounds like:

a) it isn't the mic

b) the speaker or it's associated driver electronics have an issue.

You could further eliminate the mic by recording some footage using the built ins and see if they behave the same.

If the camera is within warranty, yes, it should be covered.

Thanks... I was sure it was the speaker... I will call canon on Tuesday after the holiday... I hope I have an authorized repair place near by... I would hate to not have my camera for a few weeks... I would just rather live with the issue. LOL

Thank you for your help!
