Haha I found it very cute! The music was absolutely perfect. What song was it? and what font did you use at the very end for "Created by"? Very simple little concept but it definitely works!

Nice! Nice!

Brought me in for first comment!
Ricci,
Although this is my first post, I've watched all the videos you've posted up to this point. Loved the action packed video, and I remember the anticipation of awaiting the arrival of your Letus. Many of the videos posted here, I have enjoyed. I must say though, this ranks as one of my favorites. It's quite simple (from a content standpoint), however, the video speaks volumes. Great choices on the soundtrack, and equal kudos on the setup and execution. Look forward to seeing more. Jay |
Nice one.
Love the use of music. |
Beautiful and funny too! Very nicely done!

great video!

Sorry, I just don't get it. Is it the music that I don't recognize?
With all the positive comments I'm wondering if I'm seeing the same video. |
Jim,
What's the problem? I saw a stunningly beautiful shot, with a slow-moving bird silhouette, and this scary, anticipatory music that kept making my heart pound. I kept waiting for the damn thing to morph into an alien or something. But then everything is ok and he just starts eating bugs or whatever. Fun times. |
Ok. I get it. The background was just too soft for me and it didn't have the same impact. To each his own. Thank goodness we're all a little different. I may be even more so... ;-)

thank you
thank you guys for the kind comments to this video...Will, I appreciate your explaining to jim..
ok jim your probably right about this cheap unedited video (meaning no cs stuff and no magic bullet stuff ) to your high end standards with cs stuff or fcp and magic bullet.. I do agree though that the background is kinda soft and it could probably be better if I have that expensive software..... as for me I'm like that tv commercial visa/mastercard (priceless) canon xh a1 = 3,400 dollars letus35 extreme = 1,200 dollars cs or fcp = pricey (probably cost a leg or an arm) capturing that bird at the right time and the right place =priceless there are some things you just can't afford to buy (right now) have fun.....and enjoy.... if I can only get that cs thank you jim |
Ricci,
I think the soft background was due to the letus' shallow depth of field not your software or lack of it. Anyway, don't take my comments personally. Everyone has there own view on things. Living only 30 miles from you and being very familiar with the environment here, you were very lucky indeed to be in the right place at the right time to capture that image. |
jim
comments are well taken...in fact it helps to improve my way of doing video...
thats why i include "Priceless" comments to lighten up the conversation... i also know about the softness of the background,,what i meant was i could probably improve the color and saturation or more with cs right... i even added you as my buddy list thanks once again..... |
jim
thanks once again.....

You know, all of us are still learners in video.
Personally I didn't "get it" either, but don't let that affect you at all - you know what? Some critics didn't like Lord of the Rings too. Every film in the world that's ever been made has had someone not "get it". It just doesn't matter - the important thing is to revel in the fact that you've made a film, and at least someone, somewhere will like it! :-) I find it hard not to take it to heart when someone doesn't like my films too, but it's just one of those things - it doesn't matter. |
Watching ... Waiting ...
Per my previous post, I've been watching many of the post/videos on this forum. I've had a chance to watch Ricci's post, which if I remember correctly started out as experimenting with his new camera and then Letus. I could be wrong.
Although the bird video is not to everyone's liking I'm just happy to see experimentation/creative processes going on with the equipment. Of course, in the long run this leads to improving processes. I have a least a month before I purchase my camera, and it seems to be the worst wait EVER. I do, however, take comfort in watching the post on this forum and appreciate the creativity and willingness to share. Ricci, please continue your experimentation and sharing (I'm sure you're already an experienced shooter, I don't mean to imply otherwise), as it helps those like myself ... even if we don't comment. And it gives me inspiration that when I purchase my camera, I'll get a chance to kick the tires and play around creatively just as many of you are. -Jay |
