Color shift
Just wondering if this is normal.
I just shot an event that included a slide show in the middle of the evening. I usually get the slides and insert them in post when there's something like this but I video the slide show to get the audio and to be able to sync the inserts. The projections had a very different color temp but I didn't bother re-white balance because I knew I wouldn't use the video portion anyway,. The thing is, when the lights came up the XH-A1 had shifted into the red. Video of the slides appeared greenish and it's as if the camera was trying to compensate by shifting into the red. After a bit (maybe a minute or two) the video appeared normal again. (I was not on auto anything.) I'll probably be able to fix the video in Premiere but, - Is this to be expected? This is the first time I've done this with the XH-A1. I did it a lot with the XL-1 (Actually the same annual event for several years) without noticing this. |
