XF Utility 'Cannot read the clips'
I spent the day yesterday out shooting with my XF305 and filled up 1 1/2 64Gb Sandisk Extreme Pro cards. I played back the entire day's shooting on my large LCD screen through the HDMI output of the camera, and everything looked great. This morning I imported the B card that was half full with Canon XF utility and everything went well.
Then I put the full A card into the firewire reader and got the message 'Cannot read clips'. I ejected the card and put it back in my camera, and now the camera can't read them either. There is just a big question mark on each clip. Any ideas of how this might have happened and what can be done to fix the problem? I hate to lose a full day's worth of shooting. Worse, I'm concerned that this may happen again. |
Re: XF Utility 'Cannot read the clips'
Bob, if you take this card back to the computer via your card reader, are the files still present, along with the appropriate folder structure?

Re: XF Utility 'Cannot read the clips'
Yes, the files are all there.
The file structure looks OK. Each file folder has five files in it, the MXF file being the largest. |
Re: XF Utility 'Cannot read the clips'
Recommend you copy & paste the entire contents of the card, over to your hard drive.
Download and install the free Sony PDZ-VX10 XDCAM Viewer software and see if it will play the .MXF clips (it should). Sony : XDCAM & XDCAM EX Software Downloads : United Kingdom |
