Need answer
 

I currently run 3 panny dvc30's at my events (outdoor marching band competitions and dance recitals) I am looking at adding cameras but not necessarily at editing in HD yet. How will the HV 20 footage compare if I use the cameras HD to DV conversion? Thanks in advance for your input.

(PS: I am using FCP 5.1.4)

I'm not sure if the thread link above is the answer to your question but it sounds like you are wanting to shoot HDV to tape and down-convert in the camera and capture it as DV, if so then that thread discusses this. I'm sure if you do a simple search you'll find other threads discussing this also.

The HV20 has a very good built in converter.
