How to transfer videos from tape to Computer/Laptop
 

I have installed all the software that comes with the CD in Canon Optura XI bundle. I could down load the stills to my laptop, but couldn't get through downloading recorded video to laptop.
I have tried all the possiblities, connect S-VIDEO as well, but no luck.

Please help in this regard.

You need a FireWire cable for this purpose, which is not included with the camera. You'll have to buy it separately. It's commonly called a DV cable, or iLink cable, or IEEE 1394 cable (they're all the same thing). For going from the camcorder to a laptop, you'll need one of these cables which has four pins at each end. For going from a camcorder to a desktop computer, you'll need one of these cables with four pins at one end and six pins at the other. You'll also need video capture & editing software.
