Why does Canon Log1 require full manual exposure in EOS R

Hi. I realize asking won't change this limitation. It would still be very helpful to understand.

We shoot with the R on a gimbal. So the scene and exposure changes as the camera operator moves. All other cameras are log so to match, the R is recording to an external recorder in log.

Auto-ISO is disabled (unavailable). Only full Manual exposure mode is possible. This means that when in low light, the operator has to continuously adust the ISO via the gimbal control.

In bright light, they are busy with ND filters and setting aperture.

We also use an XF605, which allows auto-anything in CLog3.
