My camera rig...
Earlier I was asked about my camera rig and what it comprises. Since I finally caved in and got me a Zacuto Z-Finder (a very very nice device, by the way) I thought I might as well show & tell the other parts of the camera too.
I've modified and/or built a few components of this setup myself (with help from some friends) -- that includes; carbon fiber rails and shoulder rest, CNC tripod mount, 600 luminance LED lights, 12 volt 3500mAh lithium battery packs, and a hacked Century matte-box, including aluminum rails. The Canon lenses that I'm using are EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM and 17-35mm f/2.8 L UMS, along with a few Nikon primes and a bunch of filters, including Tiffen and Cavision 4x4's. The shotgun microphone (and mixer) is from a small German company called Ambiance, the rail clamps are from RedRock -- and I cram all this (sans the Nikon lenses) into a small Pelican 1510 carry-on case. Each time I put this piece together for a shoot, I think to myself; life isn't bad after all. Here's how the rig looks assembled with the 70-200 lens, surrounded by some other lenses and stuff: YouTube - Jessica playing with my new Camera Rig... -- peer |
