the speeds displayed on the LCD equate to the following actual speeds:
--- Anything below 1/60 (including those below 1/30) = 1/30 actual
--- 1/60, 1/80, 1/100 = 1/60 actual

But then if 1/100 = 1/60, why actually is the 1/100 darker?

Edit: After watching Jon's video again, my table may need to be adjusted.

Why? Where?

Merci.

It's darker where/which video ?
Note that the camera also adjusts the ISO, so it's not just the speed which determines the exposure (darker or brighter). Besides, I believe the main purpose of the tests mentioned in the original post in this thread is to show motion, not whether it's changing from bright to dark or vice versa.

It's the same test video mentioned in the original post, which doesn't seem to be available anymore.

1/100 is darker than 1/80 or 1/60. How can it be the same shutter speed?

Bernard Racelis December 24th, 2008 09:13 PM

That is why I said the table (of indicated speeds vs actual speed) in my other post need to be adjusted/changed, after watching the video again.
