600D questions
I "inherited" a Canon 600D a few days ago. Now I have a few questions as it didn't come with a manual. I know that I can download it but couldn't find answers to the following questions:
1. The video recording sometimes stops and a message comes up on the LCD saying: "Video recording is interrupted" When I try again there seems to be no problem. 2. Sometimes a message flashes in the down left corner: "Exp. SIM" 3. What is the best way to import the footage to my iMac? I have tried iMovie but it didn't recognize the camera. Tried iPhoto and it worked... but is there a better way. I have a 16Gb SD-card from YES marked HD-video 10. Thank you |
Re: 600D questions
I had similar problems with Class 10 SD cards causing my recordings to suddenly stop. Called Canon and they recommended the use of Class 6 for video recording. The instruction manual even state this. I use my Class 10 cards primarily for photo shoots and rely on my Class 6 cards for video.
As for importing movies, just copy the footage directly off the memory card to a folder of your choice on your HDD. iMovie '11 will import H.264 files and allow editing without the need to transcode. |
Re: 600D questions
Thanks John,
The problem only occurs now and then but I'll get new cards anyhow. |
Re: 600D questions
I am using 16GB Sandisc class 6. I remember seeing Amazon or Adoroma now running promotion of $26 each. It was $75 each 2 years ago.. and I bought 16 of them :(
