C100 + 17-55mm 2.8 EF-S Vignetting
4 Attachment(s)
I'm seeing heavy vignetting with the 17-55mm 2.8 EF-S lens. It is very evident even with the EF-S setting on the camera activated and is noticeable even at 55mm. From other posts here it doesn't seem to be a problem for other users, so I'm wondering if I'm getting an abnormal amount for some reason. I've attached 4 very quick demonstration images against my white office wall at 17mm and 55mm both with and without the EF-S setting on the C100 activated. Is this more vignetting than other users are experiencing? I'm currently struggling to use some of the footage coming out of the camera because of the extreme vignetting. It's much stronger in the right hand corners of the image.

Sorry if this is obvious but I assume you have PIC (peripheral illumination correction) enabled on your C100?

Possibly paranormal activity in your house?

Re: C100 + 17-55mm 2.8 EF-S Vignetting
I had the exact same issue with the 17-55 on my C300. Canon in Irvine said both lens and camera we're operating within specs and no repair was indicated. My solution was to return the lens and buy the 16-35. Alas, no image stabilization.
